Silver water is good for promoting the healing of skin injuries, dental problems and stomach ulcers in dogs and cats. In this article you can read more about the properties and possible uses of silver water.
What is silver water?
Silver water is also called colloidal or ionized silver, and is tiny silver particles (nanoparticles) in steam distilled, sterile water. The small silver particles contain a charge that can fight bacteria in a matter of minutes. There are no additives, dyes or preservatives in the silver water. It can be used by both humans and animals to treat various health problems. The rest of this article is only about the effect and use of silver water for animals.
What can silver water be used for?
Silver water can be used for various skin injuries in dogs and cats (and other pets). It can be wounds, tears, scrapes, burns, skin irritations, insect bites and swelling. Silver water promotes healing as it keeps the treated area clean and free of bacteria.
The silver water can also be used for dental problems, such as tartar, cavities, coatings on the tongue and has an effect on bad breath at the same time.
How to use silver water?
The silver water is used in different ways depending on where on the body it is to be used:
For skin problems, the silver water must be dabbed or sprayed on the affected area 2 – 4 times a day. It is best to let the water evaporate, rather than drying it off. The easiest way is to spray it on with a spray bottle.
The mouth/teeth: It is easiest to spray directly into the mouth for problems with the teeth, gums or tongue. You can also choose to rinse the mouth by pouring silver water into the dog's mouth. The mouth and gums are sprayed 2 – 4 times a day or rinsed once a day.
Bad stomach/cold: If your dog or cat has a bad stomach or a cold, in some cases it can help to give 20 ml of silver water 2 times a day for 3 – 5 days (until the symptoms stop). The dosage can then be reduced to 20 ml. per day. You can also give 20 ml per week as a preventive measure. The easiest way to give the dog or cat such large amounts of silver water is to put it directly in the drinking water.
